How much do you know about Foot Care?

The reason why Steppy was created (born) was because I started to pay attention to my feet problems.
After a lot of different changes and trials, I found Toe Socks are the most beneficial and come with only a fraction of the cost of other solutions.
Today, let’s forget about toe socks for a change. I’d like to talk about general foot health and it pretty much covers what I have tried or done my research on.
- Proper Footwear
Choosing well-fitting, supportive shoes is very important. Shoes that are too tight or too loose can cause discomfort and potentially lead to conditions like bunions, blisters, corns or redness. Especially if you have wide feet just like me, it’s highly recommended to look into wide toe box shoes.
- Foot Massage
Foot massages offer various benefits, including stress relief, improved circulation, pain relief, better sleep, reduced swelling and tension relief throughout the body.
It’s always good to give yourself a gentle foot massage after a long day or go for a professional massage treatment but do consult a healthcare professional for any specific health concerns.
- Professional Care
Check-ups with a podiatrist can help identify and address foot problems and provide professional guidance or advice before they become serious.
Above solutions can be very costly, if you are not ready to invest too much, here are some basic grounds you can cover to give your feet better care.
- Regular cleaning, Trimming toenails
Keeping your feet clean, dry helps prevent fungal infections and regularly trimming toenails avoids ingrown nails. It’s also crucial to inspect your feet for any abnormalities like cuts, blisters, or changes in skin colours, as they could indicate underlying issues.
- Exercise and Stretching
Foot exercises and stretches can help maintain flexibility, strengthen muscles, and prevent common issues like plantar fasciitis.
- Maintaining a Healthy Weight
This is like common sense but people forget how important it is.
Excess weights can put enormous pressure on your feet, leading to various foot problems. Maintaining a healthy weight is crucial and should be treated as top priority.
